Fairy Tale Patch, L
Description
The “Fairy Tale” patch was created together with ZAG Gallery for the exhibition “HE: Taras Shevchenko. The Artist.”
It is based on a motif from Shevchenko’s graphic work, in which Death appears not as a threatening symbol but as an interlocutor. It is a scene of inner dialogue built on the contrast between light and shadow, presence and the boundary. The artist works with allegory in a restrained and precise way, leaving room for interpretation—without moralizing or literalness.
The “Fairy Tale” patch transfers this tension into a tangible object. It is not an illustration of a plot but the capturing of a state—a moment of focus in which fragility and strength coexist. The image feels contemporary because it speaks a language that needs no explanation: about the presence of a boundary as part of the human experience.
