Belshazzar’s Feast Patch

The “Belshazzar’s Feast” Patch was created after Arsen Savadov’s work of the same name, in collaboration with ZAG Gallery especially for the exhibition “The Little Prince”—about a child’s pure view of beauty that leads to an understanding of the eternal.

This patch conveys a colorful, metaphorical vision of the boundary between life and eternity. Amid flamingos and fantastic birds, a symbolic “dinner-negotiation” about the future unfolds—a moment where play, imagination, and philosophy are delicately intertwined.

At the center of the composition is the Armenian arevakhach, a symbol of infinity that unites death and rebirth. It is a kind of gathering point for meanings, holding within it both the moment of transition and the promise of continuation.

The artist Arsen Savadov, a renowned master of mythmaking, constructs this story at the boundary between the real and the symbolic. Through color, he creates a tension that both bears down on the image and awakens the viewer, opening a space for personal interpretations and inner conversations.

The work is oil on canvas, 217 × 400 cm. We were able to realize it in our L patch, preserving all the principal meanings and emphases.
