Kharkiv Kots Patch

Description
The Kharkiv Kots patch was developed in collaboration with Kharkiv’s Nakypilo Radio and hereditary kots weaver Iryna Shehda. Kots weaving had been a popular craft in Slobozhanshchyna since the 17th century, but unfortunately it effectively ceased to exist at the beginning of the 20th century. Fortunately, the technique used to make them was preserved, and in 2022 it was recognized as intangible cultural heritage of national significance. In this design, we reproduced the ornamentation, colors, and stepped structure of a traditional Kharkiv kots.
