Kazka Shield Patch
Description
The “Kazka” patch was created in collaboration with ZAG Gallery for the exhibition “HE: Taras Shevchenko. Artist”.
At its core is a motif from a graphic work by Shevchenko, where Death appears not as a threatening symbol but as an interlocutor. This is a scene of inner dialogue built on the contrast of light and shadow, presence and boundary. The artist works with allegory in a restrained and precise way, leaving room for interpretation — without moralizing, without literalness.
The “Kazka” patch transfers this tension into a material object. It is not an illustration of a plot, but a record of a state — a moment of focus in which fragility and strength coexist side by side. The image feels contemporary because it speaks a language that needs no explanation: about the presence of a boundary as part of human experience.
