Description
The patch was modeled on a carpet from the Carpathian foothills dating to the 1980s.
This woven piece is entirely innovative because of its unusual shape and the placement of diamonds as its main symbols. Such carpets were not mass-produced. It was probably woven in her spare time by a craftswoman from the Kosiv Carpet Factory.
Diamonds can be called the most widespread type of ornament among Slavic peoples. They hold a special place among all protective symbols and, according to belief, bring good fortune. Diamonds are traditionally depicted in embroidery and in the decoration of building façades in the Carpathian foothills.
