Description
In times when snow truly crunched underfoot and a visit to someone’s home began with the creak of sleigh runners, people traveled by sleigh — with gifts, with anticipation of the holiday, and with that simple joy one wants to remember.
That is the very moment captured in Mykhailo Bilas’s tapestry “Winter” (1988): a quiet night, the moon touching the snow with cold light, a cottage among the trees, and a sleigh gliding toward warmth.
This patch was created in collaboration with the Mykhailo Bilas Art Museum — to preserve and pass on a little Ukrainian winter fairy tale.
